  This movie made me hate myself and Asian people more than I already do. In this film, and in everyday society, a large number of Asians are subject to thousands of years of filial piety combined with both implicit and explicit social contracts with each other in the hopes of achieving social harmony. This has generated the opposite intended effect. Xenophobia, classism, and unrealistically high societal standards have caused the people in this film (and often also in real life)…
