  Deep Red 1975

  There are obviously weak points (i.e. the actual plot) but it’s very easy to forgive while listening to the perfect 10/10 score by Goblin. It’s stylish, fun, and a perfect foray into the giallo genre…just don’t go in expecting a super clever Knives Out style mystery.

  Ravenous 1999

  Ravenous laid the foundation for the Hannibal series and Bones and All without taking itself as seriously as its successors. This movie strikes the perfect balance of levity (via the soundtrack and well-timed cannibal puns) and terror.

  Even the terrible writing for Mimi’s character and even worse delivery couldn’t ruin this movie but it did significantly detract from what would have otherwise been a near-perfect film! Excellent creature design, practical effects, and several very funny moments.
