  I pitched THE DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS (1963) as a ‘classic’ slice of science fiction filmmaking referenced in ROCKY HORROR’s nostalgic opening number, “Science Fiction/Double Feature”.   The audience reviews are in for BLOOD LAKE ("SLEEPAWAY CAMP's evil cousin") at Genesis Cinema [28/02/24]!!!

  Of the 30 available review cards... 18 people voted 'treasure', 8 voted 'trash', and 4 swung both ways. Which looks like another win to me...

  Overall, praise flows more freely than blood in this lake, with some beautiful summaries of this DIY cinematic oddball. My favourites include describing BLOOD LAKE as a "holiday simulation" or "GUMMO with blood"... even "beautifully shite" does the film…
