Aaargh this film makes me so upset with MYSELF because, fool that I am, I get sucked into this kind of style over content movie again and again. I was so enamoured with its visual sci-fi beauty (and let’s face it Gareth Edwards is a master of atmosphere) that only on second viewing I realised the script is utter crud. I mean pure lowest common denominator bobbins. With the amount of creative energy that’s gone into every subtle detail this film had the potential to be a career defining moment, but you naused it with a crap gung-ho script.
