Almost 18 months after seeing it at Tokyo International Film Festival in 2022, the film has finally been released in theaters and I've finally had the chance to watch it again. And it is just as amazing to watch on a second viewing as it was the first.

A truly wonderful fourth wall-breaking art piece about what it means to love and grieve, with the screening followed by GEZAN doing a roundtable talk where they talked about behind the scenes…

im so grateful to have been able to attend the premiere of this film which was followed by a Q&A with the director and stars!

a great story about an ex-shooter who tries to keep the security of his factory intact - he endures trial after trial, many of which are personal, as he juggles his personal and professional life.

the final shootout is incredibly tense and very well shot, like the rest of the film

a movie about the violence in the underground world of the philippines. during the post-screening qna session, the director mentioned that violence has been very normalized in the lives of the people of the philippines, that he felt the urge as a storyteller to bring out this topic on the screen and encourage the discussion on this topic. one appreciation-worthy effort.

Let this movie lull you into its slow pacing and it’s a fascinating experience, with layers to its metaphors on the way war seeps even into the most peaceful of moments and crashes every life it ever even indirectly comes into contact with. The pain can’t be escaped. Beautiful imagery too.

It definitely overstays it’s welcome and is VERY slow, but I found myself engaged.

a movie about another dark side from iranian islamic regime. this time in the sport world. amazing directing and super strong acting from the lead actor. superb!

Leila is an Iranian female judoka who is asked to throw a match or withdraw at an international competition in order not to risk fighting against an Israeli judoka.

I had expected a sport film but it was in fact a taut edge-of-your seat thriller. So many great effective choices including the decision to film in black and white with an unusual aspect ratio.

This is an American production, co-directed by an Israeli and an Iranian and filmed in Tbilisi,…

International Premiere at Tokyo International Film Festival

Helene is a strong, intelligent Jewish woman in Nazi Germany. She can pass as aryan but what’s the real cost of doing so?

Powerful story with an excellent performance by the lead actress.

He introduced new elements into “Tibetan Movies” but we lost him… I share a similar wish with Xu.
