Angel Face 1952
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
So cynical! Yet still holds on to some level of American optimism in Mitchum’s rejection at the end. It could've stepped closer to something special in having them accept each other and admit that money, greed, and a willingness to kill to claim what you want only for yourself, triumphs here.
If it were made in a later era, I feel that’s where this would’ve led.Translated from by

Dangerous Crossing 1953
Really enjoyable and effective at creating doubt in both Jeanne Crain and everyone else.
Only one part took me out of the movie a bit - I wasn’t a fan of the voiceover to explain Crain’s thinking: “I know, I’ll pretend to believe them!” with a smirk. Considering her earlier work in Leave Her To Heaven, I think she would’ve been able to convey that without having to explicitly tell us.
