A charming, suspenseful, modernised take on a genre somewhat lost to time. A thrilling first-watch that plays with the viewer’s expectations - keeping them in the dark as to whether a visit from “the people in the sky” is exciting, concerning, or a horror-story waiting to happen.

Purposefully and gorgeously shot, extremely atmospheric and very competent at building tension. The film is filled with real heart, genuinely emotional moments and even humour peppered throughout, whilst simultaneously not impeding its tenser moments. It toes the line between tones, with scenes that wouldn't feel out of place in ET being sandwiched between classic thriller/horror tropes - yet neither feel out of place. Well acted from the leads despite some clunky dialogue here-and there.
