    Everything Must Go

It manages to keep the audience interest despite the lack of plot, and having a few scenes run too long. The focus on the musical mood, warm atmosphere and character development within a family works well as the family feels real, and it is both moving and funny throughout.

    Kinda Pregnant

    ★★

A comedy that is kinda funny like the protagonist Lainy is kinda pregnant.

Early on in the film, as Lainy is folding together her sofa bed it pops back at her and she goes flying across the room. It feels forced, and comes of as flat.

Later, she is in a restaurant with someone elses thight clothes, so she stumbles down some stairs. It feels more genuine and funny as we get to see a look into the character.

Demi Moore makes a glorious comeback in this spectacular body horror motion pitcure.

Writer/director Coralie Fargeat borrows heavily from Stanley Kubrick and David Cronenberg, with noticeable refrences to «The Shining» (1980), «Videodrome» (1983) and «The Fly» (1986), but manages to create an original film with a unique voice and some arresting images.

If you can handle the gore then you will have a bloody good time!

Despite treading on familiar ground, «Rebel Reacher», I mean «Rebel Ridge», is a riveting story as the screenplay by Jeremy Saulnier is well-written and his direction is well-paced. Aaron Pierre makes for a quiet yet effective action hero, in a film that I would not mind a new franchise off.
