Oldboy 2003
A conceptual masterpiece that’s beautifully shot, totally twisted, and also way too long. Some scenes are extremely nauseating and upsetting. Feels very 2003 in terms of how badly it fails the Bechdel test. Definitely worth watching once (if you can tolerate cringe), but that’s it. After seeing this for the second time, I’m 100% sure I will never watch it again. Don’t watch it alone or with family members. Watch it with friends, and make sure you have a palette cleanser on deck so that you can reset your brain after the movie is finished.
