No means perfect but definitely better than critics would have you believe. I'd even go as far as to say this is one of my personal favourites to come out of phase 5 thus far, and a step in the right direction in regards to tonality.

Having said that, it's issue is that it works too hard to void the gaps in knowledge for more casual viewers. Haven't seen Eternals? Don't worry, we've got exposition for that! Didn't watch the…

I'd argue this is the perfect follow-on from the original film, with all the same charm yet so utterly heartwarming and mature at times. It's cliché to say, but this felt like a warm hug. Plenty of laughs. Had a good old cry. But most of all, I'm just so glad to see Daniel Cleaver being Daniel Cleaver again (now with some depth to him).

Also, I've always said Chiwetel Ejiofor would make the perfect leading man since Love Actually. Keira may not have appreciated him at the time, but I certainly did.

Not as funny or high energy as the trailers made it look, but Keke is great as per and it's nice seeing her in something more mainstream!!

SZA brings such a lovable energy to Alyssa despite her messiness, and I absolutely loooved Janelle James, Katt Williams and Maude Apatow. Iconic cast.

Also, I'm gonna be thinking about "tumbleweave" for the next week. Best joke in the whole film.

Gets better as it goes on but ultimately undelivers. An admirably poignant message hidden behind muddled/disjointed filmmaking decisions. I related to aspects of Owen's otherness, and am glad it resonates with its intended audience but I unfortunately didn't feel satisfied with the film as a whole package. Might be worth a rewatch in the future though.
