Though it took me around five different sittings, I felt I had to watch The Birth of a Nation atleast once because I feel to ignore and forget it would be to ignore and forget the injustices and destruction it, and its ideology, has caused (and still is causing).
I must say, however, I've noticed alot of five star reviews on here beginning with something along the lines of "If you can look past the racism..."

To be clear, this isn't a documentary about the 'killing' of Sam Cooke. His death isn't discussed until the last 15 minutes of the film. Instead, the film focuses on the life and political activities of the famed singer.
