    generous, flattering biopic, completely disinterested in probing the subject at hand. way too long, needlessly complicated editing. not emotionally resonant at all, philosophically illiterate, and worst of all, tasteless. watchable because of the craft and the talented cast, but that's all.

    spoilers: it contains a scene where he reads "i am become death, destroyer of worlds" out loud from a book in the original Sanskrit while simultaneously fucking Florence Pugh.

    impossible to take it seriously, which is awkward for a movie about the atomic bomb.
