This terrified me as a kid. Some insanely haunting visuals. The boat scene. The river scene. The basement scene. The cage scene. The carjacking scene. The Tom Cruise running scene! Why is this film actually a classic tho? I truly hope Tom is been blackmailed by that cult because he has to be one of the greatest actors (and coolest men) of all time. McAvoy is excellent in this, playing the captivating yet disturbing role a little too well. Some of the dark humour from his character is hilarious - the Cotton Eyed Joe scene had the entire audience cracking up. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang 2005
The dialogue in this film is absolutely electric; soooo sharp and soooo hilarious. The main trio are all incredible and have amazing chemistry. Wasn’t actually too sold on the convoluted plot, but man I haven’t laughed at a film so much in a long time. Truly comes as no surprise that Shane Black, writer and director of The Nice Guys, is behind this too.
