    Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire

    A movie sequel that's a complete reenactment of the first one, but with some meta commentary added to it to make it relevant somehow. And the goddam thing works.

    It helps that the actors are so charismatic. Andrew Tully is such a cool bad guy to dislike. And even though the ending feels extremely corny, the idea behind the Insomnia project is actually quite smart in the way it reflects the ways of the Devil.

    I guess I'd be more offended or depressed by this non-movie if I had any previous relationship with the character of Deadpool, but as it exists now, this is barely disguised corporate worshipping done at the expense of the saddest and most pathetic elements of the superhero genre: non-consequential violent showdowns, indiscernible stakes and insincere ironic detachment. When Deadpool tells Hugh Jackman that he'll be playing Wolverine until his 90's, it should come from a place of genuine offense at the idea, not from salivating at it.
