I picked the film this week and as a tribute to Halloween went for a horror. A film about flowers that’s more about deep-rooted (if you’ll pardon the pun) loneliness and self-loathing. I’ve always had a preconceived idea that Nicolas cage is a bit of a meme actor but his portrayal of the awkward and lost Charlie compared with the hopeful and optimistic Donald has made me reconsider. Hands down the most boring film I’ve ever seen. I once tried to drink a whole cup of tea using only a teaspoon and this film wasn’t half as entertaining as that. The only exciting bit is when the credits roll so you can turn the thing off. It took 75 teaspoons if anyone was interested.

I can see why other people would enjoy this film however it this just wasn’t really for me. Russian is a difficult language to listen to and I struggled to concentrate whilst watching it. Also watched it on two different streams as the first was buffering and both had different subtitles which was very confusing. If I could describe this film in one word it would be noisy. The harsh Russian language and constant weird music…
