  I prefer the fun and/ or scary kind of horror film, this type is just overly concerned about being respectable and tasteful and those are not the pleasures of the genre. Good acting though, saved by Hugh Grant.

  I liked it. I enjoyed that they made the harkonen homeworld really awful with depressing wet look fireworks etc. I liked that that they at least approached some of the wierder bits of the books (though an actual talking baby would have been ideal obv). The horror dream/premonition didn’t really cut it for me but then I guess they wanted to keep a 12A rating? Also good sound track.
