Good Time 2017
When I try to distill things I dislike in movies, I think of a pure antithesis of what Good Time is all about. The worst movie will make excuses to stay still with the story seeming to serve the elements rather than the other way around. Stagnation is a good way to keep the budget manageable. Female Prisoner Scorpion: #701's Grudge Song 1973
I feel like people are overly negative about this film because of its lineage. I had watched this with my girlfriend, with her never seeing a Scorpion film before and myself having watched the good ones several years before. Howling Village 2019
This movie is equal parts interesting, creative, laughable, and confusing. The characters are strange, the different plots are meandering, the supernatural elements are jarringly diverse, and the answer to every mystery is ridiculous. And yet I find myself admiring every performance and visual effect(besides some bad CG eyes). The film isn’t overly reliant on cheap scares and really feels passionate through and through. Overall very charming and worth your time.
