  love that lee is actually a fully formed female MC with her own thoughts, feelings, and agency which a lot of “kinky” movies conveniently forget. love that we get to see her discover herself in ways she never got to before and that grey clearly cares for her beyond their sexual relationship. sucks that fifty shades of grey took what could be considered an empowered narrative and turned it into its most regressive, base form but oh well. at least we have this film which is ultimately about a weird girl getting to be weird <3
