Victor Frankenstein is powered by a compelling performance from McAvoy but is dragged down by mind-numbing direction. McAvoy has some of the most memorable moments in the movie and has the most interesting character but he is even ruined by the director trying to portray him as a villain but drastically changing his character into a hero in different moments.
