This movie is a stunning and beautiful movie to look at, the cinematography is by far one of the best parts about it along with the acting, with stand out performances from each actor involved however in my mind all of that is overshadowed by the questionable decisions the movie makes through out its runtime, it seems whenever a interesting or intense moment was about to be presented the film would introduce a disturbing sexual scene in its replacement, these moments can be done well however I find in this film it takes away well more than it provides.

The Thing 1982
The intentional ambiguity, the atmosphere, and the use of practical effects elavate the film to a whole new level earning it a top spot at the top of both the sci fi and the horror genre respectively, a must watch for both film categories that will leave you thinking about the film long after the credits roll.
