Always had a soft spot for this one. Despite its flaws it has one of the most unique flairs in the series by leaning on the supernatural voodoo elements.
I forgot though that Sheriff Pepper becomes the lead of this movie for like 15 minutes. Super weird decision.
More watchable than I remember but the whole affair just feels tired and cheap after how amazing the previous entry was.
Some pretty good lines to be found in the movie though.

Marvel seems to constantly want the credit for taking wacky risks with its properties without actually putting in the effort to make the ideas work. I was hopeful at the beginning with the 30’s-inspired title card that we would see a loving homage to 30’s Universal horror. However, nothing else in the film even tries to match the beautiful aesthetic of those films. Making your movie black and white doesn’t automatically make your film look period…
Murder has never been this much fun!
I think I’m in love with The Thin Man series. It’s mix of screwball comedy, playful flirting, severe alcoholism, and crime after crime just make every second a delight. Nick and Nora Charles are quite possibly the greatest fictional couple ever?
I found this sequel took everything good in the original and made it even better. It’s almost funny in these movies how incidental the actual murder is; sure they spend a lot…
