Leave the World Behind 2023
I was led to believe this movie is kinda dumb. And it kinda is, but I mostly enjoyed the ride. The kind of film where interesting-enough questions are presented and you mostly hang around to get the answers so you can move on. In the meantime it was mostly just me aghast at how similar Ethan Hawke and Kevin Bacon look not only now, but always? And I’ve always known they were different actors.. but now I feel like I need to rewatch both filmographies just to double check.

Saltburn 2023
A little mystified by Oliver’s master plan, this felt like a prequel to set up Barry Keoghan’s Joker in the Patman movies. Saltburn is a great meal that digests better when you don’t pick at it. However, big ups to the cinematography because every 5 minutes we lingered on my new favorite album cover idea, consistently, for 2 hours and 11 minutes.
