In the Mood for Love 2000
wong kar wai walks you through the bustling crowd, pulling you close around corners, leading you to the dance floor, where at the crescendo of your slow, purposeful number the lights go out and the room is empty. feels like caressing someone’s nape just before you have to get up and leave, or at least the memory of it. soul crushing catharsis. so few people from my course of however many hundred showed up to this and that breaks my heart in a much less fulfilling way.
