The Truman Show 1998
the scariest movie i’ve seen and it did it all with suspense
it’s eeriness was so unpleasant and it shares the same feeling as eternal sunshine of the spotless mind as a fever dreamish loosely held together with very abrupt cuts making it a bit jarring even though it is easy to follow
Jim Carrey is amazing as always but it’s eerie having his comedic persona contrasted by the lack of a score, dried colors and lighting that looks just slightly off

this movie might be the perfect movie and its damn enjoyable as well
it’s so thematically dense that you could have thousands of youtube video essays milk it to death in their minds but in reality, they might just be scratching the very surface of what this film offers

the amount of shaky cam this movie has is unbearable, i honestly felt ill after watching the first 15 minutes, speaking of the number 15 why do the action sequences feel like they were shot on a solid 15 fps, i’m serious why do they look so jarring.
