watched at the metrograph just a few days before he passed. the end sequence leading to the entire run of the end credits (w david featuring many characters from his previous films and nina simone’s “sinnerman”) had me feeling i was ascending into the white lodge (heaven). it’s unfortunate this ended up being his last film (not including THE RETURN), but i feel great knowing his last bow to the crowd was a masterpiece. rip the god, the ultimate showman, david lynch 🕊️
