In previous two Sean Baker productions i couldn’t really make myself like the protagonists, but I loved the films. Here I like Anora, more the person than the film.. she’s too good and the Russians are just too evil for there to be any space for nuance

Visually amazing, the director during movies whole duration throws at us shots which transform most mundane things into spectacle of light and motion. Similarly with the sound, which is full of texture and ambient, creating this very fresh mix of traditionally Hispanic sounds with experimental computer blips and sounds of everyday life Although there are times where he misses with his experiments, you can’t say he didn’t try to make this movie stylistically bold and he sort of succeeded…
The script well.. it isn’t on par. Like he uses full poems recited over the radio and a t shirt saying “don’t look back” as rhetorical devices…
