This film had all the elements to be good, it just didn’t go there for me. The screenplay needed a lot of work. We never really know why Ella’s behaviors took a turn for the worst. I understand her mother was a hard ass and accepted nothing more than perfection for her last film, which made Ella’s world feel really small. But we didn’t even get a proper in depth look at how the mother came to be an evil…

The Book of Clarence 2023
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The first 10 minutes of the film start off good, I loved the score, and cinematography. The film quickly goes down hill as we dive into the core of the screenplay . Clearance has a plan to become the Messiah, but we only get to feel it for a small duration. The Jesus scenes were the only cool part of the film, and the small humor when it didn’t seemed force . All in all I expected better.
