thomas might be the #1 Wife Guy of all time

incredible costumes, performances, cinematography, set design, everything. one of the most visually stunning movies i've ever had the pleasure of watching.

bill skarsgård's orlok is so haunting, and robert eggers was able to convey the feeling of being under his thrall to the audience incredibly well

    Event Horizon

    ★★★½

awesome practical effects/gore and peak spaceship aesthetic (the sci-fi/gothic fusion in the gravity core room being completely different than the rest of the ship really helps give the vibe that something here is Wrong before all hell breaks loose)

laurence fishburne carried through most of this then sam neill stole the show in the final act

definitely some weak performances and odd choices of takes to include occasionally (there was a sam neill scream that was super flat), but even with all that it doesn't really bring the movie down

costume design and makeup was disappointing, with beast and azazel standing out as especially bad. also, magneto's classic helmet didn't…

first of all, xavier and magneto's chemistry in the opening scene is CRAZY😭

there's some great parts to the movie but unfortunately it's weighed down by the logan/jean and bobby/kitty romance subplots, the final fight, bad costumes (logan's hair💀), the inexplicable way some mutants forget to use their powers (storm at the lake needing logan to tell her to clear the fog), and rogue getting the cure.

this trilogy couldn't help but focus on wolverine to its own detriment (ie.…
