The dialogue in this film is sensational and the story is gripping. Who would have thought that a bunch of old priests picking the next pope could be so dramatic! What’s even crazier is that according to church scholars the depiction of the infighting and politics at play are very real. Ralph Fiennes was very deserving of his best actor Oscar nod and probably should have won based on this performance. I didn’t really see whatever the academy saw in Stanley Tucci though to be honest. Although the ending was unrealistic, and in some senses offensive to Catholicism, I would highly recommend giving it a watch!

Casino Royale 2006
Always love watching this absolute classic Bond movie. I’m not sure any other spy movie even comes close to this one. It makes me sad that Craig is done, but what makes me even more sad is already knowing that Amazon is about to destroy this iconic franchise without the stewardship of the Broccolis. Who’s ready for them to start pumping out absolute slop??? Holding my breath that they don’t do what they did to LOTR, shameful.

The Other Guys 2010
Rewatched the other guys, obviously we all know it’s one of the funniest movies of the last generation. It’s actually insane how every single scene has you keeled over in laughter. I mean it’s anyone’s guess why we haven’t gotten a sequel, maybe it’s better that way so we don’t ruin the magic but the greedy part of me just wishes I could see Will and Marky Mark in their element again! Bye, Sheila!

The Zone of Interest 2023
The sound editing is phenomenal and there are so many great shots throughout. You can feel the complacency of the Nazis in the acts they are committing with only some semblance of guilt, but overall I did not find the movie compelling at all. It was extremely slow and for me a giant nothing burger on a very powerful subject matter. There are a lot of better films on this subject that I think would be a better use of your time.
