My goodness do I love Bong Joon-Ho. Fantastic as always. A lot to chew over with this one.
This was a great movie theater viewing. Crowd had a hearty set of laughs at the prayer scene.

This was a bit more difficult of a watch than Yi Yi for me. It has a darker tone, requires more historical context, felt harder to follow, and drags noticeably longer (it’s nearly 4 hours and the first half moves especially slow). It might be better on a subsequent watch for numerous reasons.
Beautiful framing and cinematography. Loved the costumes and locations, the history could be felt deeply here. This film just looks great. It also has many impressive dark scenes…
