Amazing movie. Only thing that bogs it down is the cheesy song choices and editing during emotional scenes. Other than that, truly original plot and unique characters that have a complex and engaging arcs.

Batman Returns 1992
Probably the best ‘Batman’ movie. Like no, it’s obviously not the best movie staring Batman, but as far as goofy, dark, yet heroic Batman goes (like the comics) this is the best. I love that Bruce doesn’t pretend to be humble either. He’s a pretentious billionaire who dresses up like a bat and uses high tech in order to pretend to be a superhero. Also, a Batman that kills and doesn’t have this self-righteous “I'm better than you cause I just leave you paralyzed for life”, is better imo.
Just amazing.

Cure 1997
Never has a movie made me feel like I was deteriorating. I love True Detective S1, and never realized just how much of it was based on this movie. Both are completely independent stories that are unique, but the feeling that Cure gives can only be imitated. I felt like I was apart of not the world, but the movie itself.

Memories of Murder 2003
While some of the shots, the music and certain plot shifts date itself to the early 2000s, the tone and subject really tie together this movie. Being able to make a room laugh to then cut to a realistic portrayal of what the victims went through. It’s a terrifying movie that balances its pacing. Bong Joon Ho really is a master at tonal shifts. The ending is to be remembered.
