A well executed horror family drama that explores the way our upbringing affects us in ways we never thought possible. Some character choices did require suspension of disbelief, but overall I really liked it and I would like to see the director tackle more universal monsters in this modern and fresh way, as he did previously with Invisible Man. I like remakes that repurpose the simpler stories of the past into more current narratives that reflect on real life experiences.

Do the Creature from the Black Lagoon next please.

A fun thriller with really good modern archetypal characters and good writing when it comes to comedy. The way some things work in this universe in regards to the sci fi elements is a bit flimsy and not that believable, but the film is campy enough that it doesn't really undermine the experience. The acting was an unexpected bonus for me, all of the actors were great, especially Thacher and Quaid.

I thought the film was going to focus more on the communication between the two protagonists, while each is stationed…

Now THIS is a great Lynch flick.

I was getting kind of disappointed while watching his films back to back, each one leaving me either underwhelmed or somewhat annoyed, even though I liked most of what I saw.

But I have nothing bad to say about this.

Peak avant-garde storytelling, insanely amazing visuals that will haunt me forever, very well crafted messaging revolving around social norms, marriage, industrial hellscapes and existential horrors. Even if you don't care about engaging with…
