  Gender studies for people who don’t understand gender studies 

  Or: great cinematography / set design / ideas wasted for an advert. Yes I laughed, but I also physically yelled from how obvious and cynical the entire film was. Mattel funding a film to try and subvert Mattel for their own material gains.

  Mixed thoughts. Needed much less timothee chalamet and more Jason momoa. Characterisation was really weak imo, as were the use of flashbacks and dream sequences. Buuuut the music, *bassiness*, set design, cinematography and special effects were absolutely gorgeous.
  Idk how to feel about the racial politics tied with the white saviour narrative and “middle eastern” aesthetics hmm
