Saw in theaters- very entertaining and I laughed a lot. Very heavy handed with political takes in a way I didn’t find interesting or beneficial. Would’ve loved the movie to be about the clones and interpersonal relationships and not colonization. Didn’t realize I didn’t enjoy the plot until I left the theater though because it was so entertaining in the moment.
Know someone who worked in production for this film. I didn’t like it but appreciated the Boston cameo. I didn’t like the meta 4th wall aspect of it. And I feel like the “lesson” wasn’t so impactful. I feel like the lesson should’ve been “there’s a grey area” instead of a complete flip of priorities and perspective.
so much to say but i’ll leave it at this: delicious and rich and delightful and heartfelt and one of my all time favs
Came into this movie knowing nothing and I really should’ve checked for tw. Was deeply moved but also triggered. A great study in how time and circumstance can change relationships that were previously seen as innate and unending. Specifically with family. I actually loved the role weed played in the dialogue and conflict. I also enjoyed that the cliche avenues to conflict were avoided and it wasn’t situations spurred on by overhearing something secret. Also I miss shooting on location and I loved the shots of Poland. Great character study
