  Pan's Labyrinth 2006

  Possibly going to need a bit more time on this. I really admired the saturated cinematography, fancy art direction, and frightening makeup and character designs. The structure of the story is what really caught me offguard. It really reminded me of how some Studio Ghlibi movies are structured where they focus more on the human characters and themes rather than the creatures. I was mostly invested of how it played out, but i'm going to give a second watch soon to see how it all connects.
