  Stargate 1994

  Honestly think, as a kid, this made more of an impact on me than Star Wars. NGL, yeah because of James Spader, but also because it has to do with language and has a foothold in this world rather than straight fantasy.

  Granted, it plays with some pretty problematic tropes, but so do Star Wars, Dune, etc.

  It's not as epic, in fact it's kind of an impressively contained story. And the effects and costumes aren't really on the same…

  The 🧡 doesn't do justice to how confoundingly much I loved this glossy, regurgitated pulp. I'm really confused about what just happened to me
