  Not exactly a revelation that cardinals voting for a new pope do so on political lines and that manipulation of individuals is the method of achieving majorities. Quite a bit of telegraphing of the end result and the final revelation was a bit of a damp squib.

  Amazing and beautiful world-building- stunning natural views with incredible VFX that seemed to enhance the beauty of the whole. Very engaging story with a fantastic child -lead and sterling work by the rest of the cast. One too many emotional twists for my liking but the whole was still very good.

  I have yet to watch both parts of this film but am compelled to write a review on the action so far- how can Part 1 be so long and still not inspire any empathy with the characters? The visuals show that money has been spent, but the story line is derivative without being interesting.
  The whole seems to be 'dialled-in' with no character having time or sufficient back-story ( especially not shown, but very little told) to allow us…

  Beautiful colour palette; reminded me of some the Dutch master landscapes. Some of the individual scenes were stunningly pretty. 5 stars for images but the story needed more pace. Some brave decisions in the acting stakes.
