Gladiator II 2024
I have two thoughts about this movie. One: Russell Crowe was a titan that had the magnetism and charisma that no one could touch in this movie with a stick a mile long (except Denzel, he is always the exception to every rule). Two: The way I lost all sense and reason when I saw them reading newspapers in 211 AD... the printing press was invented in 1440. Ridley Scott has always been loose in historical accuracy, so I roll with it, but good lord Gutenberg must have been rolling around in his tomb at this one.

Mississippi Burning 1988
There are some pretty glaring holes in the narrative, especially when you realize that very little characterization and nuance is given to the Black community and characters throughout the film, except for in how they serve to push the violence of the plot forward and exist in the 'noble' suffering shown. I would recommend reading 'Freedom Summer' by Bruce Watson for a much more complete and honest view of this. The rest of the movie has some pretty standout performances…
