We’re back on Ghibli after a long hiatus, and boy what a comeback it was. Really enchanting film, strong metaphorical messaging with enjoyable characters and a lot of different angles. I enjoyed the focus on the balance of nature, and the way nature as a force personified the animals. The focus on uplifting women was inspiring too, making me like a villainous character a little more. There were really strong visual and intimate moments. I think at times the plot was so back-and-forth that it was hard to follow, but that’s my main gripe with this one.
