  Tragically sloppy in execution. Cripplingly using  the original as a crutch, Scott phones this one in, finding every moment to lazily recall Maximus or something about the original in place of taking original and bold creative risks. Instead, everything is painfully worn on its sleeve. “The dream of Rome, “This is the real Rome”, “only in Rome”, “the Roman dream is dead”, oh brother I wonder what he’s trying to say… it’s all reactionary blue MAGAism but least Megalopolis was…
