This movie asks you answers and tells you questions. Both heavy handed and deeply layered.
You could convince me of some of the lows in this movie, but no movie held my attention like this all year. We should be championing direction like this. A fire hose of ideas in this and looking forward to the inevitable final cut and future rewatches.
Enough giallo influence to keep me in it despite the script. This movie is like a kids scavenger hunt spotting West’s influences and movies from his Sight and Sound list. Not great, not bad, unfortunately enough for me to keep an eye on his next project and I’m not sure why.
