This kind of lo-fi outsider shit is my jam. To quote Vince McMahon, “That’s good shit pal!”

Deathstalker 1983
Deathstalker is not particularly great, but it is a fun entry in the 80s Sword and Sorcery run of films. As it’s the first in the Corman produced films it’s devoid of recycled footage so by its very nature it’s the better film in the series. The actual character of Deathstalker isn’t particularly likable, written as a more morally grey character. Rick Hill does as good a job as he can to make Deathstalker likable but that is a challenge…

Rabid Grannies 1988
Another Troma classic! Always reminded me a lot of Brain Dead, very similar tone. For anyone getting into the Troma catalogue it is a must watch.
While this isn’t a 4K release the new transfer by Vinegar Syndrome is again absolutely gorgeous. Looks and sounds better than it ever has. I love that these labels have popped up really doing amazing works restoring films that most companies wouldn’t touch.

Evil Bong 888: Infinity High 2022
The weakest of the series, it sadly goes out with a whimper. Rabbit is back but there’s not much plot or story to work with to give him a proper send off. Most of the movie is spent with different diners giving the feel this was a bunch of disjointed sketches as opposed to a fully formed story. That said it’s still dumb fun with some funny one liners here and there. If you liked the series you’ll find something to enjoy.
