The cinematic equivalent of Stevie Wonder's "Don't Drive Drunk"-- obviously written by a genius but derailed by cringe didactics. Ad campaign did a good enough job that this might make back its budget. I was surprised to find it was mostly just a road movie; "Little Miss Sunshine" with 100x the corpses and 1/100th the amount of recognizable human beings. Garland was probably reading the test screening scores when he decided to give up directing but the script is terrible too: at one point a character starts a convo with "So, what made you want to be a photojournalist?"…
