    Thana can not speak, and her suffering pushes her to use violence. She was birthed into this world and punished through the eyes of men, embodying the perfect victim, a woman who can't say no. The violence against Thana is swift and brutal, incredibly effective in martyring her into a goddess of death. We watch her descent, clearing the streets of scum before this violent force she unleashes takes hold of her. She becomes a husk of rage; only unto the final moments and a single line uttered does she realise her life is forfeited.

    “Did you know… Hijab bad?” - France

    It seems asinine that this film decides to hyper focus on Hijab injustice (often a valid concern but supplementary to primary conditions of theocratic Islam). The point is certainly not new and has grown stale (no wonder a French co-production decided to fund the hell out of this).

    This of course isn’t my primary reason for disliking the film. Overall this is just an incredibly bland, badly paced, poorly made pile of slop…
