Act 3 could have been cut completely or just really condensed down and I personally would have found it a more engaging film in line with its more experimental nature. As in, the romanticism of its pace doesn’t work for me once Eugenie passes. Suddenly it all feels self indulgent, because it’s no longer passion done for the other. Overall though, a film I think changes the landscape of what’s possible and masterful in storytelling.
