Bad boy kid finds a reason to go straight but then that reason passes him by in the end and now he's back on the streets. Kind of a bummer. But the whale is fun

FernGully: The Last Rainforest 1992
A quaint relic from an era back when environmentalists thought loggers were the biggest problem. I vaguely remember watching it when I was like 5 or 6 years old, which must’ve planted some tree hugger seeds. The sludge monster being absolutely terrifying.
As a story it's kinda knock off Disney and not very interesting. Same with the animation—other than the sludge monster effects. The music is dope (except for the song when Crysta is all sopping wet for Zak). So are Robin Williams and Tim Curry's performances. Worth the rewatch just to confirm how scary the sludge monster is.
