This movie was good, but not great… overly long, in my opinion.
Pros: The MO-CAP was amazing. I never for a second did not believe that I wasn't watching real talking apes. FANTASTIC!
Cons: FREYA ALLEN… The human lead. She simply wasn’t very good and her character was pretty Blah…
I sincerely hope that the franchise isn’t being built around her for future films..
I’m glad I saw it, but I never really need to re-watch this again.
Very funny Indie comedy. This movie really felt reminiscent of the NYC independent films of the 1990’s.
They did not hold back on the edge.. a lot of people watching this may be turned off by how it maybe crosses the line of what is deemed acceptable humor, but I really enjoyed it.
The 3rd act kind of dragged a bit, as it can be with some comedies when wrapping up.
Very good film! A few “Waitaminnit..” moments of questionable plausibility, but overall a believable premise. Several moments of “I know what’s about to happen” tension… like a Band Aid about to be torn off.
Wonderful sound design. Sweeping wide camera shots as well. I didn’t see this in IMAX, but I can definitely see how it could improve the overall viewing experience of this movie.
Definitely a unique film! The filmmakers did a great job crafting a compelling horror movie on a budget using very creative methods & techniques. You WILL gasp aloud at a few moments… but not from any dumb “Jump Scares” common in films today
