Somehow never saw this but of course could almost recite it at times because of its cultural impact. Such a treat to see a Demme movie for the first time. A true gift to see his vision, even when it's as gruesome as this.

I’m going to think about this movie maybe for the rest of my life? The story is incredible, the surrealist storytelling impeccable. But I can’t get over first and foremost the talents and performances of Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan. Every emotion earned and transfixing.
