Visual masterpiece that was ahead of its time. Unique film in which it is a theme/symbolism driven film as it as a simple plot with simple characters. The big theme of the film being evolution, and the dangers of artificial intelligence makes you question the future even in 2023, as the film was released in 1968. Only flaw I would say is the dragged out shots which were very appealing visually but slowed down the overall pacing of moving the plot forward, which resulted in an extended runtime.
