Memories of Murder 2003
one of my favorite movies of all time. Climax that starts in the rain is one of the greatest climaxes I have ever seen with the tipping point of character frustration fueling the story. Suddenly it's the competent, comprehensive lawman who's certain in the deliverance of justice when it's proper protocol that's led him to this point .... and for what?
Classic Bong Joon-ho storytelling w long takes, ensemble cast, and abundance of information in frame to move story forward.…

surreal movie in that the setting is rooted in suburbia except halfway through you realize that the characters are crazy if not crazier than they are campy. It is impressive how the sexual violence comes in and out of the story before it returns to its mystery / crime story. Begs the question of why such intense sexual violence is there beyond shock value, but that is not to dilute from directing or pacing which is tight

sci-fi flick that makes you question what it means to be human. Could be released in 2023 and still hold up on its own from set design to movie concept and story. Only thing dated would be its depiction of 'romance' which is very '80s and rapey. The only stain to an otherwise perfect movie
